To anyone who’s reading this…
My name is Nigel Burris, I live in the UK, and I’ve been a lifelong film fan. At time of writing – 5 November 2013 – I’ve seen over 13000* films, ranging from silents to foreign movies to Hollywood blockbusters to low-budget indie movies to shorts, and all genres in between.
Movies have been my passion for as long as I can remember, from when I was a kid watching Flash Gordon serials during the summer holidays (usually followed by a Tarzan movie), to my first experiences of foreign movies (shown late on a Friday night on a now defunct UK TV station). I’ve yet to see a movie that I couldn’t see all the way to the end, no matter how bad it is, and I don’t always look to mainstream fare for something to watch, having found over the years that there are more gems to be found away from the big studios and their multiplex offerings.
In August 2016 I started working at the British Film Institute, something of a dream job that is proving as rewarding as I’d hoped. I’m based at what was called the National Film Theatre on London’s Southbank, and being involved in an organisation that I’ve supported as an interested party and then a member for nearly twenty years, is like having a gigantic chocolate cake and being able to eat all of it. (Postscript, 10/2/17 – alas, my contract has come to an end, and I have to settle once again for being just a member. But I had a great time there and I worked with two very lovely people, Hazel and Pru – I will miss them both.)
I’ve set up this blog to share my opinions and views on movies, and through them the film industry as a whole, and other related topics. Reviews will be the main focus, but over time there will be the odd diversion, occasional comments and other writings included too, hopefully on a fairly regular basis. And hopefully some of my review choices will prompt visitors to the site to watch movies they might not necessarily think are worth their time. I hope people like it.

Last story is not matched with ‘Jekhane Bhooter Bhoy’ movie there is nothing feelings of horror in that story that everyone should keep in their mind.
